Summer is heating up and for the Wilson People that means getting outside with family and friends and firing up the grill for some good ole BBQ. When I’m out there manning the grill, it’s always nice to have a refreshing cocktail to keep you company and a good host is always prepared with a few drinks on ice for when the guest start trickling in. So I decided to bring you the ‘Summertime Cocktail Series’ of some of our favorite, easy to make summer cocktails to help you beat the heat while looking cool. For the first episode in the summertime cocktail series I thought what goes better with summertime and BBQ than watermelon? So we’re tossing a few fresh watermelon chunks in a glass and making some delicious Watermelon Mojitos, a good thing about this recipe is you don’t have to leave the kiddos out! Ingredients: – Watermelon – Limes – Sugar – Fresh Mint – White Rum – Ginger ale Directions: Muddle 2 watermelon chunks with the juice of 1 lime and 2 teaspoons sugar in each glass. Stir in a handful of mint leaves, then add 2 ounces white rum and ice. Top with ginger ale; garnish with more mint.
